GAIS is a Swedish football club from Gothenburg, founded in 1894 and one of the city's traditional clubs. A four-time Swedish champion in earlier eras, GAIS plays in the Gothenburg area and has moved between the Allsvenskan and the lower divisions, contesting local derbies with IFK Goteborg and Orgryte. The green-shirted Makrillarna are among the historic names of Gothenburg's rich football scene.
