Brazil is the national football team of Brazil and the most successful side in the history of the sport. The only nation to have played in every FIFA World Cup, Brazil has won the tournament a record five times — in 1958, 1962, 1970, 1994 and 2002. Governed by the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) and nicknamed the 'Seleção', the team is synonymous with an attacking, skilful style often called 'jogo bonito', the beautiful game. Over the decades it has produced many of football's greatest players, from Pelé, Garrincha and Zico to Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Romário and Neymar. Brazil plays its biggest home matches at the Maracanã in Rio de Janeiro and wears its iconic yellow-and-green shirts. Beyond its World Cup titles, the team has won numerous Copa América championships and remains one of the strongest and most watched national sides in world football, carrying immense expectation from a football-obsessed nation.
