Independiente Rivadavia is an Argentine football club from the city of Mendoza, in the wine country at the foot of the Andes. Nicknamed La Lepra, the club won promotion to the Argentine Primera División and plays at the Estadio Bautista Gargantini. It is one of the great popular football institutions of the Cuyo region in the west of Argentina.

Estudiantes de Rio Cuarto is an Argentine football club from Rio Cuarto, in the south of Cordoba Province, founded in 1968. Nicknamed the Celeste, the club reached the Primera Nacional, the second tier of Argentine football, becoming the leading side of its interior city. Promotion gave the city of Rio Cuarto a strong presence in Argentina's national second tier alongside the province's bigger clubs.
